Submissions for Gateway to the Rockies Art Exhibit due Sept. 11

The Aurora Artists Guild currently is accepting entries for the 16th Annual Gateway to the Rockies Art Exhibit, which will take place Nov. 12 to Dec. 18 at the Aurora History Museum, 15051 E. Alameda Parkway.
Cash prizes will be awarded for a Best of Show overall, and first, second and third places and an honorable mention in each of the painting, photography and miniature categories. Special awards include Aurora’s First Lady and the Kate Tauer Awards.

The Gateway to the Rockies Art Exhibit, which is a favorite for local, regional and international artists to feature miniatures, two-dimensional works and photograph, is presented by the Aurora Artists Guild and co-sponsored by the Aurora History Museum and the City of Aurora Cultural Services Division. All exhibit pieces are available for sale throughout the exhibit, and unframed artwork will be available at the opening reception.

The Aurora History Museum is a service of the City of Aurora’s Cultural Services Division. The museum at 15051 E. Alameda Parkway is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission to the museum’s permanent and rotating exhibits is free.
